  • The Holy Spirit is present with the FCC family! Great kids and teen programs. SWCS is just one outstanding mission offered by the church. The Deacon Program takes excellent care of the church's widows and truly cares for their welfare. I have seen only God's love from the staff and members. Fishtales Bookstore carries nice gifts and many books. If they don't have it they will go out of their way to attempt to get it for you. The store is open each Sunday!

  • I recall the first time I walked into First Christian Church...back when it was still at old building on 26th Place. Driving home from my folks in Somerton, I had an inclination to attend church, so I attended with my two kids. Philip Krueger was doing the baby dedication. I was in my sweats, sitting at the back row. I wanted to dedicate my child to the Lord, so despite my embarrassment of the way I was dressed, I sucked it up and walked down that isle. I never regretted it. I don't recall anyone judging me for the way I was dressed. What I recall are people who were warm, and prayed for me and my child and promised to partner with me in raising up my child in in the ways of the Lord. Phillip followed up with me the next day and took the time to get to know about me and my family. We placed our membership then. That was in 1997. We have seen the church go through it's ups and downs. Adjustments to keep up with the times, growing pains and the like. My family moved away due to my husband's job, however, we never lost touch with our church family and came to visit often when we were in town visiting my folks. Fast forward to today, I am happy to report to you all that First Christian Church body holds true to its promise. They have continued to partner with me and my husband throughout the years in bringing up our children (now four!) in the ways of the Lord and we have moved back to Yuma and reunited with our church family. I am thankful for the ministries that the church offers to meet the needs of a growing community, young and old alike.
First Christian Church looks huge and intimidating on the outside. People have the impression that it is a "rich" church. The church is "rich" with mature faithful and dedicated Christians. The church building did not just appear there. "Building on His Promises" FCC building became a reality and continues to thrive through persistent prayers, sacrificial giving and faithfullness of its members, Godly leadership and full reliance of God's provisions and His direction. Jesus is the cornerstone of FCC and I am thankful and blessed to be a member of it's body.
I incourage you to visit and please "do not judge a book by it's cover". Come through the doors and peruse through the pages...get to know the people inside and get involved in the many ministries. Hope to see you there!

  • I've been a member of FCC for nearly 20 years. Moving off and on due to being a military family, my family has always somehow found a way back to Yuma and to FCC. Each new city we relocated to, we'd call the associate pastor, Phillip, and he'd give us a "sister church" recommendation in that city. It was so great coming and going and always feeling welcomed and missed. FCC has a fantastic children's ministry and their Nursery (ages infant-2yrs) runs on paid staff and state regulations as far as cleanliness and ratios. The Cafe is warm and inviting, the bookstore has a variety of books and music as well as the ability to order anything you don't see. They offer a Saturday night service which is a bit more contempory and then the normal Sunday services. The preaching is done by 2 pastors who rotate so there is never a feel of monotony. I've found community outreach, missions and children are where their heart truly lies. I'm blessed to be apart of such an amazing church and would invite anyone to come check us out.
