  • We started going to Desert Grace in 2007. There has been many ups and downs at this church, but in now seems God has sent us the right pastor and leaders as the church is really starting to grow and finding the direction God wants us to take. There are so many wonderful programs for all ages, not only for church members but programs that reach out into the community.

One of the the things I love about Desert Grace is it isn't just a church, but a family of believers. I have seen time and time again where one of our church family has had a hardship come their way, medical, loss of job, death and we the church body have come together to be there for that person or family. It is such a wonderful feeling to know that even though I live 2000 miles away from my family with Desert Grace I have a family right here in Yuma.

The other thing I really enjoy about this church is that our Pastor is away's challenging your thinking. He has a way of delivering a sermon or asking a question that makes you think. He makes you dig deeper in your understanding of Gods word thus furthering your walk. You should see some of the Facebook debates those of us in his Bible study have had.

So if your looking for a church with something for everyone, want to further your walk with our Lord, and want an extended family of believers come check us out one Sunday morning. Hope to see you there, God Bless..

  • It's hard to give a review without first giving my testimony. I was drawn to Desert Grace in August of 2010. I grew up and was a member of the United Methodist Church back in Texas, but since moving to Yuma in 2005, I didn't really make an effort to find a church here in Yuma until 2010 after my mother came for an extended visit. I tried the United Methodist church in town and then the one up the road from Desert Grace, but something told me to give Desert Grace a try, and I'm glad I did and I know why God was telling me to go there. I grew up knowing that it takes work to keep the church going. It takes a willing group of servants to run the church. When I began attending Desert Grace, I could tell very few people wore many different hats to keep it going and it wasn't running smoothly. There was a lot of miscommunication, some complaining.... ok, lots of complaining, but why weren't these issues being addressed? I asked myself, what was keeping from serving in the church, so I gave it a few months, prayed hard and jumped right in. Two years later, I love serving God at Desert Grace. I dare you to find a church that doesn't have its internal issues and find one that has God's purpose above all the needs of the church while you're at it. I now have a leadership position and I can tell you that the other elders of the church put God before everything we do. After all, isn't that the 1st Commandment? As elders of the church, we don't serve the congregation or a pastor. We serve God.... together! Take a close look at every church's finances. Look at the overhead costs, what it takes to keep the doors open and what it cost to support a pastor. Look at how your tithes are being spent. Then ask questions before making assumptions. Our doors are always open. Let us know how we can help your walk with Christ.

This church is of the Nazarene Denomination. They hold to the Nazarene Manual, as their teachings. The Pastor rules by his own authority. The Board uses the money the congregation gives for frivolous projects. That is why this church is over 300k in debt. But seems to keep from insolvency from Snowbirds who give money without discerning the spirits.

If you know your Bible, stay away from this apostate church.
